How it started

One of my passions is living a healthy lifestyle. While being a mommy of three, it has always been important to me to keep myself together (spiritually, mentally, and physically). I don't ever want to be the mom that "let's herself go" on any level. That being said, I have a daily routine of hitting our local YMCA. I am a huge fan of The Family Y! It gives me an hour a day that is all my own. The kidwatch is amazing with such fantastic workers and I have total peace of mind that my babies are in good hands and having a blast too. Ok, that ended up being a major plug for the Y.

The other parts of my day when I am not cooking, cleaning, doing laundry or picking up after everyone else, when I actually have free time, are very important to me. This usually comes around nap time or while the kids are at school or mother's day out. I wanted to be productive and creative and sewing became an outlet for me. I have seen (and bought) more expensive hair bands but I just knew I could do it more affordable. What better way to make it more affordable than to do it yourself! So after examining other bands I tried it myself. People are always commenting on how cute they are when I wear them; I figured I would not keep all this cuteness to myself and make them for other people too - at almost half the cost of the other ones out there.

Most days I go to the gym in the morning and don't have a chance to shower until later in the day while the kids are napping. This leaves me in my gym clothes for at least half the day! I know, yuck. For this very reason I try to look as presentable as possible. This is where my Girly Band comes in quite handy. I feel put together with my hair back and a Girly Band to coordinate with the colors I am wearing.  However they are more than just stylish; they are functional. When I am running or in fitness classes, my hair is out of my face and it stays put.
